The chapel of Agios Georgios

At some distance outside, northern from the village Phini, on a mountainside between pines, is found built the chapel of Agios Georgios. Taking the street to Trooditissa, at a lower level, when you look to the mountainside, you can see the white chapel of Agios Georgios.

It was built between 2001 – 2002, with expenses from the community of Phini. The land where Agios Georghios Chapel is build is donated by Mr. Andreas Charalambides x president of the community council of the village during the years 2001-2006.

In October 2002 after a religious ceremony, the anoint of the church with the Holy Myron took place, where the church was given the name of Agios Georgios. The chapel is made of bricks and is white externally and internally. It's a small and cute chapel with all essentials. As long as you visit it, you will meet at its interior, the engraved iconostasis where they are found hung six portable icons of saints. Also two very old and iron psalteries, which belong to the church of Holy Cross, (and later were transported to the chapel of Agios Georgios), give also their special presence. Of course the very little seats are not absent from the temple. Even though it is a small, simple chapel, it can comfortably accept 50–60 individuals.

It is celebrated on 23rd of April, festively and with procession of the Holy icon.
