The old fountain of "Pellomarous"

Descending to Phini Village from the north - east, the commanding presence of the old fountain of "Pellomarous" is there to welcome every passenger with its crystal clear fresh mineral water. Legend says that the fountain got its name from a madwoman living nearby and that everyone drinks water stays in the village forever.

The fountain was built in 1909 and was servicing the water needs of the villagers for about half a century until the water infrastructure of the village was developed and reached each and every house of the village.

Women getting there to fill their Kouzes with fresh water had the change to meet each other and talk. This picture stigmatized the Cypriot folklore.
